Come learn what other cities have done to raise the bar for neighborhood design & planning. PLANNING 101: PROJECT PLANNING

The Department of City Planning will provide a presentation focused on the City’s development review process. The presentation will include an overview of how the Department implements planning policies by receiving, processing, reviewing, and issuing recommendations and/or determinations to decision makers on various types of cases. The session will also include a tutorial on how to best access case information online.
NC FUNDING: THE DO'S AND DON'TS

Neighborhood Councils have a responsibility to appropriately expend public funds. Participants will in this session will learn about the rules and guidelines followed by Office of the City Clerk in managing funding requests. Attendees will also be taken through a live demonstration of the new NC Funding System Portal to guide Q&A.
HOW TO RUN A GREAT NEIGHBORHOOD COUNCIL ELECTION

This workshop is for Board Members, Election Committee Members, Outreach Officers, and other stakeholders assisting with their NC election. Join experienced Board members, staff from the City Clerk's Election Division, and staff from the Department of Neighborhood Empowerment to learn about best practices for making sure your NC election is best promoted, is executed with precision, and invites all stakeholders to participate!

When contentious issues, such as land-use or homelessness cause high tensions, are you prepared to maintain civility? This workshop will introduce Board Members to basic mediation skills to assist with maintaining everyone's sanity.
